Local Magician Daniel Jaspersen performs May 18.

Beyond Reason performance as part of Cheyenne International Film Festival

CHEYENNE - Local magician Daniel Jaspersen will perform Beyond Reason: Tapping the Human Potential, a non-traditional magic show on May 18.

Can a thought be planted in another person’s mind? Can cutting off one sense enhance another? Beyond Reason: Tapping the Human Potential is a bold journey into the mind that aims to explore the answers to these questions… and more. Accomplished magician and mentalist Daniel Jaspersen invites you into a world where thoughts are not safe, minds are open books and the impossible occurs before your eyes.

“This isn’t a traditional ‘magic’ show,” Jaspersen says. “It’s much deeper and far more personal than that. I don’t mess around with doves or walking through walls; I like working with people, information and thoughts. Beyond Reason is an invitation to brush the dust off your imagination.”

This special performance of Beyond Reason will include side notes on the intersection of magic and film. Many of the early film pioneers where magicians too.

In addition to Jaspersen’s performance, two short films related to magic will be shown. The Cheyenne International Film Festival (CIFF) runs May 16 - 19 at the Historic Atlas Theater. CIFF offers audiences an opportunity to see films from around the world and network with and learn from producers, director, writers and photographers. In its first year, there were 35 films from around the world screening at the Historic Atlas Theatre in downtown Cheyenne.
